We work with
you on writing
The NKU Writing Center offers free assistance on writing assignments to all students. The center also offers a Writing Workshop course in conjunction with the English Department.
What We Offer Students
The English Department at NKU offers a comprehensive curriculum for students interested in literature and writing.
Our undergraduate degree program has several distinctive tracts of study with three majors and five minors available, including a minor in Cinema Studies.
English faculty members also provide an impressive list of general education courses and a Writing Instruction Program that is open to any student on campus.
In our graduate program that was started in the fall of 2008, we offer a Masters in English along with graduate certificates in Professional Writing, Creative Writing and Composition and Rhetoric.
To enhance the educational experience of our majors, the English Department sponsors a student organization and created scholarships and awards for outstanding achievers.
The excellence of our academic programs in English depends on your support. Private giving plays an increasingly important role in our ability to recruit and retain outstanding students and faculty. For more information about how you can support the NKU Department of English, please contact Julie Budden, Director of Development, College of Arts and Sciences, at 859-572-6155 or buddenj1@nku.edu. Thank you for your support!
